ABOUT ME
From a young age, I struggled to fit in. I knew that I was an oddball – a definite QUIRKY CHICK compared to the dress, and manners, and style of the average people around me, growing up deep in the inner city!
From a troubled childhood that included knowing what it’s like to be an “underdog”, I always had a great longing for a better life.
I had hopes, dreams, and aspirations that took me beyond the limitations of my immediate neighborhood, or even those who chose to consistently mock me!
I was driven to live life on my own terms, and so are you, that’s why it’s no accident that you’ve happened upon this page.
I always wanted to be my own boss- just didn’t know the HOW to get there!
Have you ever had an “original” idea, but didn’t know how or have the means to act on it, then you saw it brought to market, and maybe not even in as sharp a form as you’d originally envisioned? I’d had too many of these to count!
Finally, I launched my own healthy desert biz, called Earth Cafe – without even knowing how MUCH I didn’t know about the food distribution industry.
However I’d come up w/a product I was OBSESSED with – no one could tell me it couldn’t change the world, and no one did!
I paid back all of my start up costs and that business turned a profit within 3 mos (highly unusual for the food biz) and generated over 1 million in sales in its first year.
Without the use of PR (I had no budget at the time) contacts, even industry know how- we somehow brought an item to market health food stores had never seen (raw vegan cheesecakes) and my dream of making a living HELPING PEOPLE and doing something I LOVE was born!
Through a series of unfortunate events, including the mortgage meltdown of 2008, I ended up selling my shares of that business and stepping away.
I’d always had a love of real estate, and invested in my first property using funds I’d raised via my dessert business.
When I stepped away from that business, I decided to help other investors find off-market properties in more strategic ways, and thus my real estate consultancy was born.
This would be the 2nd business I’d launch and grow to making over 6 figures within 1 year.
This one added some extra dimension, in that for the first time, I was now running a 100% location-independent company, and my love for the digital nomad/laptop lifestyle was born!
However once again, when real estate markets shifted and after my passion weened for this, I explored a few other business ideas, before a worldwide pandemic dropped! I researched which industries were still thriving amidst the turmoil.
Interestingly, travel and vacation rentals in particular, experienced a big boom. People wanted “staycations” still- but in safer settings, like a private home vs a hotel room.
Well giddy up, I launched a travel and vacation rental company, and my third business to go from launch to netting me over 6 figures in the first year was born.
